Students from all across Ventura County in grades 6-12 audition every December to earn a place in one of our two ensembles. The students that are selected to participate get to work with other similarly motivated and talented kids in preparing musically challenging repertoire for a NC Bandmasters North Carolina Bandmasters Association. Educators Association, a department of the NC Association of Educators affiliated with NAfME. Active membership is granted to any individual actively engaged in directing bands or teaching wind or percussion instrumental music and who is a member of NCMEA. High School All-State Orchestras String Bass players have the opportunity to be considered for acceptance into one of the CBDA All-State Bands.

The Scioto County Honors Music Festival is a long-standing tradition which has taken place for the past 77 years.
